Work for the Sake of Work

No other activity takes up more space and time as doing work, job, and career. Work is what gives us a sense of purpose...a sense of being. Go to a party; first question asked of you by a newcomer is: say...what do you do for a living? Let's face it, second only to our belief (or unbelief) in a god/spirit/higher-power, work is the single most important tenet of our waking hour(s) thought consciousness. Recorded on a Sunday morning, I reflect on my intimate thoughts about work while enjoying the sunrise on a mountain at the park.

Walking a Day in a Womans Moccassins

Describe your life if you were forced to spend a day in another's mind/body/spirit. Who knows...maybe that's why the Native Americans were infamous for the saying, walk a mile in another man's moccassins. Today, we explore the idea of spending a day in another's shoes (or skin). Looking beyond ourselves, we begin to look into, behind, and through our neighbor's lenses. Come with me as I walk a day in another wo-man's moccassins.

How to Control Your Life

The self-help movement teaches that we are the "Captains of our ship". Simply believe and [then] achieve! -- goes the mantra. After experiencing Earthly life for 1/2 century, my conclusion is that we don't control our lives. My viewpoint is that life is given and received. The amazing thing is that The Creator also gifted humans with the power of choice -- aka, Free Will -- to exercise autonomy of choice management of this gift of life. We are Life Managers; listen-in to learn more...

The Easy Way to set Goals

LeBron James Basketball GoalGoal-setting educational resources has become a cottage (lucrative) industry. Whether your issues/problem/desire or goal is to lose weight, improve your love life, advance in your career or get a new job, we've been taught to become goal oriented. Goals are a necessary part of everyday living and actualization. Yet we fail to realize is that getting to (goal) Yes! isn't the point. What is the point? The point is that there is no point. Letter C stands for Commitment

U.S. Marines (Commitment)Just because you work or stick with something for a long time doesn't (necessarily) mean that you are committed.

I have begun consulting within an area that I happened to be good at. Yet, I know that my commitment is not there. How do I know or recognize this self-revelation? Because my head is engaged; my heart is not.

Thus, the Letter 'C' stands for commitment. Do you have commitment?

It Just ain’t all that Serious

If you're anything like me, you sometimes take yourself TOO SERIOUSLY! I got to thinking about this topic because I happened to glance at myself in the mirror.

And what did I see? A worrisome and over-exaggerated version of a Mini Me. That got me to thinking...'Am I takin myself too seriously?' My alter ego chimed in a definitive: Yes!
