Rambling with Maurice

Breaking up this week's show, I've added a guest co-host. Although this is his first podcast, Maurice grabs the [proverbial] bull by the horn for this show. Covering a variety of topics from sports to politics to human nature, today's Father/Son bantering is not your typical oneupmanship style of generational counterpoint. [If you like this 2-person format, contact us via email, episode comment, or visit Facebook (EncouragementGuy Radio)

Obamacare is NOT a Train Wreck

Much has been said about Obamacare, aka the Affordable Care Act of 2010. One prominent U.S. senator has referred to the law as a train-wreck. Referencing this issue, I wrote a posting via my sister blogsite @Encouraging-People.com. Although the subject was thoroughly exercised, I've recorded the contents via this audio reading. As a 2nd benefit, hearing the vocal words of the written blogpost has given me an even deeper understanding of the political rift that distorts the greatness of the monumental task of executing a nationally affordable health care policy. Thus, hear my argument for Obamacare is NOT a Train Wreck.

Shutting Down Government 2013 with Obamacare

Anyone less than those under a rock or living in a cave knows of the impending 2013 U.S. Federal Government shutdown. Polls show that the majority of Americans blame House of Representatives Republicans. Yet be that as it may, ALL elected national political officials have a fudiciary duty to legislate and operate the Federal Government. The message is simple: Hey Congress, use your head...Just Say No! to a Federal Shutdown.

Walking a Day in a Womans Moccassins

Describe your life if you were forced to spend a day in another's mind/body/spirit. Who knows...maybe that's why the Native Americans were infamous for the saying, walk a mile in another man's moccassins. Today, we explore the idea of spending a day in another's shoes (or skin). Looking beyond ourselves, we begin to look into, behind, and through our neighbor's lenses. Come with me as I walk a day in another wo-man's moccassins.

Whois Afraid of North Korea

Obama_Kim_Jong_Un_Mirror.jpgWith all of the saber-rattling, it appears that the old battle of good v. evil, Cold War is rearing its ugly head...at least as far as North Korea is concerned. The NORTH is proclaiming not only as having nuclear capabilities, but is actively broadcasting its intent to employ said weaponry [WMD] toward South Korea and Japan.

On the other hand, the US has responded with a show of strength in the form of Naval battle groups, intelligence analysis, and media communication. As a consequence, the possibility of WAR is quite real. Diplomacy can be an effective tool, yet that path has been visited previously. This week's show picks apart the question: Whois Afraid of North Korea?

Romancing the Bro

TwoMen.jpgFriendship is Priceless! Agreed? Male bonding, a dying art, is 2nd only to having a loyal hunting dog. There is also a new one-liner in town -- out of Washington, D.C.

Tagged to describe President Obama's charm offensive and wooing the Republican lawmakers, the media termed it "Bromancing".

Using a play-on-words, I'm putting my own spin on it to describe my friendship with my [guy] friend. Stick around and tune in to Romancing the Bro...

The Fiscal Cliff and Your Money Blueprint

Since the close of the 2012 presidential election, the media has beseiged us with doom and gloom surrounding the fiscal (FC) cliff [crisis?]. If you recall, I recorded an episode entitled, Who Wants to be a Millionaire? My thoughts and feelings about FC are heavily influenced by my learning experiences at the Millionaire Mind Intensive [2008 and 2010]. While the Executive and Legislative branches "duke-it-out" to a stalemate, potentially millions of Americans may see higher taxes as well as a potential loss of unemployment benefits.

T. Harv Eker

Secrets of the Millionaire Mind

The answer lies within the depths of our inner self. Preparing our finances to withstand economic hardships while exploring legitimate avenues to increase our personal wealth and prosperity. The next question is: Why is it that Most People Never Achieve Financial Freedom? Take a moment and answer these questions silently in your mind: Wouldn't you like to have a lot more money in your life? Wouldn't you like to have a lot more happiness in your life? Wouldn't you like to stop worrying about getting laid off, being able to pay your mortgage, whether you'll be able to afford college, or whether you'll ever be free to retire ... and get back to enjoying a worry-free life?

I don't have a stock answer, solution, or "magic blue pill" to solve your personal financial dilemma. Yet I suggest that The ROOT cause of our financial success, mediocrity, or failure - the very blueprint that determines our financial success --practically from birth-- goes back to our Money Programming. Our Thinking...our thoughts.

My personal path to wealth and prosperity is an ongoing and never-ending journey. Motivational speaker, Larry Wingert, tells his audience that "Success is your own damn fault!" Oh, but what about the Fiscal Cliff? There are two things that I want to say: 1) I wish I was in the Top 2% to be affected by the Obama tax increase; 2) I'm gonna go pull out my iPod, plugin my earbuds, and listen to the Beatles -- Let it Be...

Proud 2Ba Military Veteran

I Am a Military Veteran. The pride that I feel has not always been as strong as it is now. Why? Maybe it's because I'm older, smarter, wiser, and more mature. Or perhaps it's because the United States may (soon) begin an exit strategy from her involvement in the most enduring and longest period of continuous warfare within her +200 year history. As a Veteran, I can safely say that war has no victors...only victims. Today, I salute my fellow Military Veterans and say:  Thank You for Your Service!

What I Plan to do for Veterans Day 2012

I have a full agenda this year to commemorate the 2012 Veterans Day weekend. First a Veterans ceremony with an Army General speaker. Next, a Veterans day parade; probably fix up some ribs on the barbie and drink a few ice teas. As one of my favorite holidays, I've learned that a grateful nation honors itself by honoring her Vets. In past years, I enjoyed free chicken wings -- gratis for Veterans -- compliments of Hooters restaurant. This year, no Hooter wings. The point is, this is a very important holiday that is noteworthy of celebration. BTW, are you as an American, enjoying your freedom? Then, 'Thank a Vet!'

Being Extraordinary in the Ordinary

How does one become extraordinary? What distinguishes a Regular Jane from an Incredible Janet? The true secret lies not in the method or the how...but lies deep within the why not. This week's show is dedicated to the New Jerseyians and New Yorkers contending with the aftermath of Hurricane Sandy {an extraordinary storm that forced ordinary people to become extraordinary beings}.
